I have never gone astray following Peter’s advice. He has been my engineer for over 7 years now and all of my team welcome him on site. His designs and drawings are always kept simple yet smart and we enjoy the fact that he is not ‘Just’ an engineer. He comes with over a decade of building experience and has paid from his back pocket for his experience and knows how much things cost.

It’s a bonus that he takes economy into account when designing. He was also flexible enough on one project to allow for my desire to build more with timber and less with steel as I didn’t have the manpower at that period to fabricate steel so he designed a timber structure that did the job.

If ever you think he may have ‘overdesigned’ something, do not fear there are a myriad of factors that Peter takes into account and he ‘builds’ your structure in his mind as he’s designing and takes things into account that you perhaps haven’t even thought of yet. I also enjoy the fact that Peter does not design to ‘minimum’ Australian standards. If you want quality structures designed intelligently then do yourself a favour and heed his advice.

Peter can be a hard man sometimes but in this business every client deserves to have a ‘hard’ man as their project engineer to ensure that shortcuts aren’t taken. I highly recommend Peter to anyone wanting successful design and / or advice to solve problems from concrete cancer to underpinning to suspended slabs and everything in between. And, off the record, if you have a
cappuccino with one sugar ready for him when he comes on site to inspect, he may just leave you with a few extra pearls of wisdom which has always saved me money …. but it has to be Campos Coffee.
